You can plan your route using the table editor while displaying the current waypoint, or graphically draw your waypoints directly on the chart. Editing routes is just as straightforward as creating them, thanks to dedicated menus designed to assist mariners in effective route planning. Additionally, you can save routes and import your favorite or frequently used files, including those from previous ECDIS models, using the industry-standard CSV format.

Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are to provide type-specific familiarization with ECDIS, tailored to the specific needs of Navigational Officers. The course covers a range of topics, including ECDIS carriage requirements, electronic charts, navigational functions of ECDIS, ship handling with ECDIS, sensor integration, alert management, and the latest updates in line with new IHO and IEC standards. By the end of the course, officers will have a thorough understanding of the type-specific navigational functions of ECDIS and be well-acquainted with features common to all ECDIS systems. This comprehensive knowledge ensures safer operations and more effective vessel maneuvering.
Course Description
The JRC JAN-901B/701B/2000 type-specific training course equips officers with the essential system knowledge needed for effective watchkeeping, in compliance with STCW regulations and the ISM Code. This comprehensive tutorial spans approximately 16 hours and meets the equipment familiarization requirements outlined in IMO Model Course 1.27 and MCA MIN-503(M) for the JAN-901B/701B/2000 ECDIS systems. Upon booking the course, you have a three-week period to complete it, with the flexibility to revisit modules as needed. The “FreePlay” Mode allows you to practice using the manufacturer’s original, type-approved software. The course concludes with a final test of up to 1 hour, which can be retaken if necessary, leading to the award of an individual certificate.
